About this event

We are excited to announce the first-ever ZooTampa Venom Symposium coming this May! This two-day event is designed to bring together first responders, medical professionals, and herpetologists to explore the critical topic of reptile and aquatic animal envenomation. Our goal is to bridge the gap between wildlife experts and emergency medicine by sharing real-world case studies, current treatment approaches, and operational lessons learned. We’re honored to have Dr. Benjamin Abo as our keynote speaker, an EMS physician and well-known contributor to the Venom One and Venom Two response teams throughout the state of Florida. Attendees will hear from experts across multiple disciplines and gain practical knowledge on: • Snake and marine envenomation’s • Prehospital and emergency department management • Wildlife handling and risk mitigation • Real-world case studies from the field This symposium represents an exciting step forward in collaboration between wildlife professionals and emergency medicine.
