Knit ruffles like a Victorian Swede! Working with silk yarn, knitters will create Victorian-style ruffled cuffs based on historical garments. The finished cuffs can be used to adorn an existing garment or craft a unique bracelet. Knitwear designer Wendy Johnson will also discuss the history of garment design in Sweden during the Victorian era as well as the history of silk mills in Sweden. Additional information: Advanced registration required. Age range: Suitable for ages 16+. A discounted youth price is available at checkout. Skill level: This class is designed for knitters who can cast on and off, knit and purl. Previous experience with silk is not necessary. Materials: A $30 materials fee covers provided yarn and pattern. Students should bring their own needles: Size 3 U.S. , 24-inch, circular needles or Size 2 U.S. needles if they are a loose knitter, plus 3 stitch markers in solid ring form (not split), if they have them.
