common: a shared experience of the centerpiece of Amherst

common is a 10-minute piece for 2 to 200 people that will take place on the Amherst Town Common during the Amherst Farmers’ Market on Saturday, July 18.  Participants will be asked to follow voice instructions on their headphones and move around the Common during the piece.  Designed to mark the town’s historic centerpiece through a shared experience, common was created by John Bechtold, Creative Director of Eggtooth Productions and the head of the Performing Arts Program in the Amherst Regional Schools. This free, participatory event will require a smart phone with headphones and a connection to the internet while on the Amherst Town Common.  Length: ~10 minutes.  Appropriate for ages 12+.
