Master Naturalist Advanced Training: Autumn Photoperiod Effects in Animals and Plants

About this event
One of 178 upcoming events at Anne Springs Close Greenway.
Discover how changes in day length influence the seasonal rhythms of plants and animals. Caused by the Earth’s tilt, the changing proportion of light and dark throughout the year provides important environmental cues that trigger biological responses such as senescence, hibernation, migration and brumation—a phenomenon known as photoperiodism. Led by Dr. Larry Leamy, this program explores how plants and animals respond to shortening day length and use these seasonal cues to time growth, survival and reproduction for the most favorable conditions throughout the year. Participants will receive 2.5 hours of Master Naturalist Advanced Training toward their annual requirements. Register Here
