Build Your Own Toy Theater with Dream Tale Puppets in Cotuit

Dream Tale Puppets invites children ages 4 and up and their families to a joyful, hands-on experience: building miniature theaters out of cardboard and creating puppets to perform on a paper stage. All materials will be provided. Participation by parents or guardians is encouraged and welcomed, especially to assist children under 7. The workshop will be led by members of the Dream Tale Puppets ensemble: Jacek Zuzanski, a theater and puppetry artist and teacher, and Sarah Kahn, a performer, artist, and art teacher. The project is inspired by the toy theaters that were popular in the early 19th century—miniature stages printed on paperboard and sold in kits at opera houses, intended for assembly and imaginative play at home.
