Art Walk Edmonds: Jasper Hathaway

Join us every third Thursday of the month for Art Walk. Each month we feature a local artist, with their work displayed in our Main Street windows all month long. On Art Walk night, come meet the artist in person, see them creating work live, and learn more about their process. It’s a wonderful way to discover new artists, connect with the creative community, and experience art up close in downtown Edmonds. Jasper Hathaway Jasper Hathaway is a multidisciplinary cryptid of an artist who enjoys everything from metalworking and painting to 3d sculpture and graphic design, they have worked in the videogames and ttrpg industry since 2011 (notable titles include Transformers, GI Joe, Power Rangers, Vampire: The Masquerade) while also doing commissions for corporations and people. In addition to art they are passionate about paleontology (Jasper is a volunteer fossil preparator at the Burke Museum), biology and mental health- ask them about gorgonopsians if you want to hear about the coolest land predators ever to walk the earth millions of years before the dinosaurs. Only your creativity is the limit! In part one we will explore kitbashing, the art of taking found objects like old toys, broken things, and inorganic “trash” to make new and unique pieces of sculptural art.
