Loughlan Prior, choreographer in residence at New Zealand Ballet, follows his 2024 BalletX hit Macaroni, hailed by The Philadelphia Inquirer as “a wildly entertaining ride,” with Speakeasy, an intoxicating journey into the hidden speakeasies of Prohibition-era Philadelphia where jazz, glamour, and danger flourished. Featuring designs by Emma Kingsbury and an original score by Frank Moon. Christian Denice‘s In the Wake returns after its celebrated 2025 premiere. Set to an original score by Philip Daniel, this evocative and stirring work explores ceremony as a profound act of healing, memory, and connection, revealing the rituals that shape us and bind us together. Amy Hall Garner returns to BalletX with Switching the Groove, a high-energy work that pulses with infectious rhythm and playful movement. Created in 2023, the work explores the exhilarating intersection of ballet and contemporary movement through sharp musicality and dynamic choreography, and celebrates the sheer joy of dance.
