The Beaumont Heritage Society and Jefferson County Historical Commission invite the community to their annual Members Meeting Heritage Happy Hour on Thursday, May 21, 2026, from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. at the historic Jefferson County Courthouse in downtown Beaumont. All are welcome – only members will vote on the board slate. This special evening will offer guests the rare opportunity to tour one of Beaumont’s most iconic public buildings while enjoying refreshments, conversation, and an evening celebrating local history and preservation. Heritage Happy Hour is designed to bring together community members, preservation supporters, and those interested in the history and architecture of Jefferson County. The Jefferson County Courthouse, a landmark in the heart of downtown Beaumont, has long served as a symbol of civic life in Southeast Texas. Heritage Happy Hour marks one of the only times in recent memory that the public will be able to explore the courthouse in this setting. Guests will enjoy craft beer from Giglio Distributing (wine and nonalcoholic beverages also available) and the opportunity to learn more about the courthouse’s history and the Jefferson County Historical Commission’s work to preserve the courthouse. Proceeds from the event will support the Beaumont Heritage Society’s preservation, education, and community programming efforts. Beaumont Heritage Society Members attend free. Nonmember tickets are $10 for 21 and up and can be purchased at the door. Heritage Happy Hour is an ongoing partnership between the Beaumont Heritage Society and Giglio Distributing Co. typically held every other month, with each event highlighting a historical exhibit, landmark, or organization. Beaumont Heritage Society believes that by promoting and sharing our local history and its historical significance in a fun and social way, we can also share and promote the efforts to preserve Beaumont’s historical landscape.
