Weave Your Way to Creativity with Connie Adam of CJ’s Baskets

Join us for a relaxed and creative hands-on workshop where you’ll craft your own beautiful herb basket from start to finish! In this class, you’ll weave a charming basket made from natural rattan reed, finished with a sturdy oak handle. Designed to be both practical and decorative, your basket can be used for gathering fresh herbs, flowers, or other treasures or simply displayed as a unique handmade piece in your home. We’ll be working with a gorgeous custom color palette created using Rit dye, featuring soothing shades of teal, light blue, and dark green. No experience needed, just bring your curiosity and creativity. Most classes run about 4 to 5 hours, giving you plenty of time to slow down, enjoy the process, and leave with something truly special you made with your own hands. About the instructor: My name is Connie Adam and I have been an elementary teacher for 29 years. During that time, I learned to weave baskets. I started weaving in 1989. I was hooked after my first basket. I started teaching basket weaving in 1993 and have continued to the present. I love sharing this skill with as many people as I can. It is one of the oldest forms of crafts and it needs to continue. Please note: Some classes may be designated as nonrefundable due to the cost of materials or supplies. These classes will be identified in the description at the time of registration. After the class: Once a class has taken place, no refunds, credits, or exchanges will be issued, regardless of attendance or participation. Bok Tower Gardens reserves the right to cancel classes due to low enrollment, weather, or unforeseen circumstances. In these cases, participants will receive a full refund or the option to transfer to another class.
