Pre-Code Classics: I’m No Angel

@ Mae West plays a circus sideshow entertainer and part-time lion tamer, in what is widely considered her best film. She also tames every male admirer she meets, until she falls for Cary Grant. The circus owner tries to break them up, but West has her comeuppance in the resulting trial, in which she wins over judge, jury, and Grant. It includes many of West’s most tumescent lines, including “Well, when I’m good, I’m very good.
