About this event
One of 135 upcoming events at CNY Arts, and 267 across Syracuse.
For decades Syracuse Cultural Workers has published an annual Peace Calendar to engage people in the vital work of creating a more peaceful, just and sustainable world. This exhibit features 13 panels displaying the artwork and cover from the 2027 Peace Calendar, the 56th edition. The calendar includes a diverse array of artists – muralists, painters, collage artists, digital creators and photographers – from across the country. It speaks to a wide range of interconnected social and political issues. Each year, the Peace Calendar is displayed in thousands of homes, businesses and public places in communities large and small. Started in 1982, Syracuse Cultural Workers strives to nourish communities that honor diversity and creative expression, and inspire movements for justice, equity and liberation while respecting our Earth and all its beings. We create and publish calendars, posters, T-shirts, cards, buttons, stickers and other merch to support those movements and the people who build them. The first 11 Peace Calendars were published by the Syracuse Peace Council, the oldest local, independent peace and social justice organization in the US. This exhibit will be on display on the main floor of Soule Branch Library from September 8, 2026 – October 29, 2026. There will be a reception at the library on Tuesday, September 29 from 5:00pm – 7:00pm.
