Try your hand at fusing colorful glass to metal while making your own wearable jewelry! RAD Pass Workshop Please note: This workshop is being offered exclusively through RAD Pass. To read more about RAD Pass and to register for this workshop, please click on the link above. The program is open to any Allegheny County resident (age 18+) with a library card. Enameled Pendant with Eden Tighe 3-Hour Workshop Date: Saturday, September 5th, 2026 Time: 2pm-5pm Description: In this introductory workshop, students will learn the fundamentals of kiln fired enamel on copper. Using pre-cut copper shapes, students will sift powdered glass enamels onto the metal, building layers of color through multiple firings. Students can explore decorative techniques such as layering, stenciling, sgraffito, and adding texture to create unique surface designs. By the end of the workshop, each participant will complete a one-of-a-kind enameled pendant ready to wear or gift. No prior experience is necessary! Tuition & Materials: All tuition and materials are complimentary thanks to RAD Pass! Location: Contemporary Craft – Raphael Building (5645 Butler St., Pittsburgh, PA 15201) Cancellations: Cancellations are decided one business day before the start date. If you require accessibility accommodations, please let us know by calling 412.261.7003 and we are happy to assist you. About the Instructor Eden Tighe is a metalsmith and textile artist. She received her BFA in Jewelry and Metals at PennWest Edinboro University in Spring 2025. Her main focus is making sculptural body adornment and jewelry that communicate relational interactions. Her interests in color and texture act as common themes to symbolize her studies exploring personal experiences. She was a Re-Formed: Jewelry Artist-in-Residence at the Mendocino Arts Center (CA). Her work has been exhibited nationally and internationally in The National Museum of Kazakhstan and in Munich Jewelry Week 2026. National shows include PennWest Edinboro University (PA), San Diego State University (CA), The 1020 Collective (PA), University of Arizona (AZ), East Carolina University (NC), UrbanGlass (NY), Mendocino Art Center (CA), as well as virtual exhibitions.
