About this event
One of 50 upcoming events at Continuing Education Inc., and 8,402 across Tampa Bay.
Explore the critical intersection of emergency medicine, mental health, and addiction care. This program examines the balance between high-tech tools and high-touch clinical skills in acute settings, and investigates how systemic factors like crowding, handoffs, and staffing constraints can create patient risk. Led by experts in emergency and psychiatric-mental health nursing, these sessions provide practical frameworks for improving patient safety and clinical decision-making under pressure. With faculty including Marilyn McCullum and Kim Hutchinson, the curriculum features sessions on the future of emergency nursing and how to mitigate system-induced harm. You will gain strategies to recognize organizational risks before they reach the patient and better integrate technology without losing the essential human element of care. This program is held aboard Royal Caribbean's Symphony of the Seas.
