Sip + Solder Mushrooms: Stained Glass Workshop at Meanwhile Brewing Co. Hosted by Deke Cameron TUESDAY, AUGUST 25TH / 6-9PM MEANWHILE BREWING CO. $80 per student $140 for two seats All materials included Register here In this 3-hour beginner-friendly class, students will assemble and solder a unique mushroom stained glass suncatcher. Bring nothing and leave with your very own work of stained glass art! Participants will learn the basics of lead-came construction, basic soldering techniques, including the use of tools and techniques unique to the art of stained glass. No experience is necessary and students of all skill-levels are encouraged to participate. Ages 14+; minors must have the supervision of a parent or guardian who is also participating in the class. To make your mushrooms: Glass pieces will be pre-cut and shaped. Students will get to choose from an assortment of pre-cut glass shapes in a variety of colors and textures. The finished product can be made into a hanging suncatcher or a garden stake. Safety warning: This workshop can expose you to chemicals including lead, which is known to the State of California to cause cancer and birth defects or other reproductive harm. Instructor bio: Deke Cameron is a local stained glass artist and teacher, with many years of experience working with students of all levels in varying arts and crafts. He is also a member artist atContraCommon, a local non-profit promoting the arts and emerging artists. In addition to sharing nearly 50% of his DNA with mushrooms, he also enjoys consuming them, as well as recreating their likeness in art glass.
