About this event
One of 37 upcoming events at Queens Public Library, and 6,724 across New York City.
Born and raised in New York City to Dominican parents, Stephanie Vidal’s work is deeply rooted in her Caribbean heritage and urban upbringing. Her art is inspired by summers spent in the Dominican Republic and memories of her childhood home, where she was surrounded by her mother’s love for plants, spent countless hours illustrating, and soon found opportunities to incorporate her art into creative projects throughout school. She later studied fashion, where she continued to develop her illustration practice while cultivating a strong eye for color, composition, and storytelling. Stephanie is currently developing her next body of work, a collection of fine art paintings that explores her Dominican and Caribbean heritage through her unique perspective and lived experience. Visit this Hispanic Heritage Month art exhibit until Oct. 31. Artist Meet and Greet: Thursday, Oct. 1, 4pm.
