Block Party Press Brunch Puzzling Event

Our friends from Block Party Press is setting up at Farm Club during brunch Dec 6 for a fun puzzling event! They’ll be bringing a bunch of original puzzles (minis, word search, connections, trivia - all with Up North theme!) and folks can solve at their leisure with an option for people to get a raffle ticket for each puzzle they completet to enter a drawing for some fun prizes. A little bit about Block Party Press: Block Party is Emily Biegas and Sala Wanetick, two Detroit-based friends turned collaborators. We began solving crosswords as a way to escape our boring day jobs and soon became interested in constructing. Our first puzzle was published in 2023 in the LA Times, and since then our crosswords have appeared in The New York Times, USA Today, AVCX, Apple News+, and more. After writing so many puzzles for national outlets, we started to crave an opportunity to feature niche clues and answers from our own community - stuff that we wouldn't be able to put into crosswords meant for the general population. What was supposed to be a DIY crossword zine quickly snowballed into our debut book, Block Party Detroit Edition: 40 Crosswords for Lovers of the 313, which has sold over 2,000 copies since its realease in November 2025.
