Before seeing &Juliet, we invite you to go back to its roots to discover what made Shakespeare’s writing so exciting, new, and unique and learn to write like The Bard! Appleton Poet Laureate Cathryn Cofell will teach you how to write a Shakespearean Sonnet and will guide you through other poetic prompts based on the themes of Romeo and Juliet, like love and rivalry. Whether you’re a beginner or an experienced writer who seeks a creative spark, this will be a unique opportunity to generate poems. The Write Like Shakespeare workshop will take place on May 27 in the Fox River Room at the Elisha D. Smith Public Library in Menasha from 6:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. Advanced registration is required and will be open until all spots are filled. This event is free to the public thanks to the collaboration with Cathryn Cofell and community support from Community First Credit Union.
