(Ages 8+) You are invited to immerse yourself in a traditional tea ceremony to celebrate the Japanese Festival of Tanabata. (七夕) Participants can wear one of our kimonos and decorate a floating lantern on arrival. Quietly observe the tea ceremony demonstration lead by Hiromi Johnson and then participate with a hands on preparation to share matcha tea with friends. Afterwards, you can walk (or drive) to the pond to launch your water lanterns. A serene and reflective cultural experience. Limited to 40 participants.
