Among the supreme achievements of the Romantic repertoire, Brahms’s string quintets pair the Ehnes Quartet’s renowned precision and tonal warmth with a second viola, deepening the music’s rich inner textures. The result is chamber playing of rare intimacy and power from one of today’s most celebrated ensembles.
