National Author's Day is celebrated on November 1st each year. It's a day dedicated to honoring and appreciating authors and the books they create. The idea for this holiday was conceived in 1928 by Nellie Verne Burt McPherson, who was inspired to create the day after receiving a heartfelt letter from her favorite author while she was recovering in a hospital during World War I. The day encourages people to show their appreciation for authors by reading their books, sharing their favorite novels, and even writing notes to their favorite authors to brighten up the sometimes lonely business of being a writer. It's a wonderful opportunity to celebrate the creativity and hard work that goes into writing. National Author's Day is celebrated in various ways to honor and appreciate authors.
