Discover the Wissahickon: Andorra Amble Hike

Meeting at Northwestern Avenue and Forbidden Drive (view location on Google Maps) Our Discover the Wissahickon hike series is presented by Newrez. Join Trail Ambassadors Chris Unander, Sue Amon, Dan Hyman, and Sheryl Rose for a hike through the Andorra Natural Area, home to the historic Cedars House, the Wissahickon Environmental Center (aka the Treehouse), and Andorra Meadow. This will be a moderately easy hike with some steep elevation changes on our way up to and down from the meadow. Check out a preview of our hike on Komoot below! Parking and Transit: If you’re driving, there is plenty of parking in the Northwestern Avenue Parking Area near our meeting location, as well as additional free parking on nearby neighborhood streets. The nearest bus stop at Germantown Ave and Northwestern Ave is a 5-minute, flat walk from our meeting location and services the 51 and 97 buses. If you’re coming from the Roxborough side of the park, the nearest stop is at Ridge Ave and Northwestern Ave which services the 27 bus. See map for details. Bathrooms: Porta potties at Northwestern Avenue and a composting toilet at Wissahickon Environmental Center. Registration is required for all hikes so that participants can be informed of weather or other emergency cancellations. Unless otherwise specified, Trail Ambassador Walks may be on rocky, rugged trails that may be wet and slippery. Wear sturdy shoes or boots with socks.
