Wednesdays | 4:30PM – 6:00PM July 15th – August 19th | 6 Sessions | All Ages Intro to Bomba Drumming is a class that integrates Caribbean percussion, history, mental health, and social connection. Instructor Chris Rodriguez will teach about the essential instruments and rhythms of AfroPuerto Rican bomba, as well as mental and social well-being. Students will not just learn how to drum and dance; they will also learn about batey, a Puerto Rican word that refers to both a drumming circle and its social space. Through group drumming, students will learn what it means to connect to oneself and to create and sustain a supportive, harmonious community. Registration is for the entire session.
