Artist Point is an iconic Grand Marais shoreline. With its rocky shores and vistas of both the Big Lake and the village, it will take your breath away and provide you with enough subject matter to last a lifetime. Class will meet both days at the point parking area where students will fan out and explore the point looking for a place to paint. Dave will give an optional demo and then work with everyone individually. Break for lunch, or bring lunch with. We will return to the studio for discussion and tweaking of paintings in the afternoon. Emphasis will be on maximum time on the point, observing and painting (weather permitting). Prerequisite: Open to artists working in a variety of paint media and of various skill levels; however this is not a beginner course. Students do not need to have experience painting outdoors but do need to have foundational knowledge in the media they are working with.
