Going Polaroid with Jari Poulin (in-person)

@ Creative freedom, analog film, instant results! Polaroid cameras and instant film hold an allure and magic that cannot be found in any other medium. From Polaroid’s incredible history with Edwin Land’s invention of a camera and film that could develop before your eyes without the aid of darkroom to the most current Polaroid cameras that that have the added benefit of a Smartphone app that connects to your camera by Bluetooth, you now have more options than ever to make one of a kind images on Polaroid’s unique signature film. During Jari Poulin’s five day workshop, you will be inspired, learn tips and tricks, for getting amazing images on your Polaroid NOW+ or i2 camera including how to manipulate your images in a variety of ways to take your images into your own very personal point of view. Jari will also be giving some ideas of how to use Polaroid as a medium for your vision and how to use it in installations and scans to make larger versions of your Polaroids.   There is a large Polaroid community that is growing by the day and users all over the world sharing work and inspiring each other with creative approaches to Polaroid. You can be part of this burgeoning community and put your own spin on the photographic art being created with instant film and experimental approaches. Over the course of five intensive days, you can expect assignments that will help you explore using Polaroid for Still Life, Portrait, Landscape, Multiple Exposure, ICM (in camera motion) You will learn a bit about Polaroid history for context, see loads of inspiring work, get shooting tips, learn how to use the Polaroid app and tripod to have hands off shooting, learn emulsion lifts and how to enhance your images with hand coloring.  Finally, learn several formats in which your work can be exhibited. Who Should Attend: Anyone and all skill levels Requirements:  You will need to have or purchase the Polaroid Now+ with filter set (not the NOW because only the plus works with the app) or if you want the very best camera Polaroid has ever made and which also works with the app, you can buy the i2 Camera though it costs more because of the design and lens. Tripod required.
