Join us for an immersive week in Spain during the celebrated international photography festival, PHotoESPAÑA. This ten-day, three-city trip offers access to select exhibitions, museums and additional exhibitions, conversations, and shared cultural experiences. This curated journey is designed for photography enthusiasts, collectors, artists, and travelers seeking a deeper connection to contemporary image-making and the cultural landscapes that inspire it. Join Executive Director Crista Dix, and Education Director Yana Nosenko for a full week of creative experiences. Trip Overview Beginning in Madrid, participants will spend 3 days experiencing the city during one of its most dynamic artistic moments, with access to major PHotoESPAÑA exhibitions, guided photo walks through historic neighborhoods, and intimate studio visits with working artists and photographers. Midway through the journey, we will travel by train north to Bilbao, offering a scenic transition between two distinct cultural centers. In Bilbao, participants will continue exploring contemporary photography and Basque culture through exhibitions with a private tour of Guggenheim Bilbao, and additional curated experiences that highlight the intersection of art, architecture, and place. We end the trip with an unforgettable three-day stay in Barcelona, one of the most vibrant cities in the autonomous community of Catalonia. Here, we’ll enagge with local photographic institutions, walk the lesser-know medieval neighborhoods of the city in a guided analog photo trip, visit one of the last operating original AUTOFOTO photo booths, and visit iconic landmarks of Gaudi architecture including the must-see Sagrada Familia. Throughout the week, travelers will enjoy a balance of structured programming and independent exploration, creating space for inspiration, dialogue, and discovery alongside fellow photography lovers. The week will include opportunities for conversation and community over two hosted lunches and dinners featuring regional cuisine and local hospitality.
