Journaling is an excellent tool to help process thoughts, feelings and events. Writing things out, putting them on paper, has been shown to help with depression and reduce anxiety and stress. Friends of the Lihue Library will provide journals, pens, stickers and washi tape. You just need to bring your imagination and inner artist. For Part 1 of the program (November 4) have fun designing and decorating your journal to make it your very own. For Part 2 (November 18) you will have quiet time to free journal or work with prompts. Light snacks and refreshments provided. The theme for this journaling program is gratitude or self-care. But you are free to design the journal for yourself outside of the themes. This program is best for Teens, ages 12-18 years-old. Anyone who requires an auxiliary aid or service for effective communication, or a modification of policies or procedures to participate in a program, service, or activity should contact library staff as soon as possible. Advance requests 48 hours or more before the event are encouraged, but not required. All programs are subject to change. See a schedule of upcoming events on the HSPLS Events Calendar.
