The Science of Listening to Eels

Join us at the Museum for an illustrated talk by Dr. Adam Jadhav, a fellow of the Center for Biodiversity and Conservation at the American Museum of Natural History, who will speak about his extensive interdisciplinary research on American Eels. The American eel (Anguilla rostrata) represents a kind of occult, slippery “nature,” a historically mysterious species that continues to baffle scientists today. While the broad outlines of the eel’s multistage, bizarre, complex life cycle are known, far more questions than answers remain.
