Herbs improve everything they touch. For a home cook who loves farmers markets (or gardening), herbs bring the flavors of the season to the table in the most direct and aromatic way. This relaxed and conversational HANDS-ON class will center on herb-based recipes from Kevin’s latest book The Cook’s Garden. But the printed recipes will just be the start: we’ll learn to adjust to taste and to improvise based on what’s fresh in the moment. The entire class will work together on prep—cleaning and chopping herbs, whisking sauces, and so on—with an instructional style that will be loose, improvisational, and fun. Our inspiration will be making lunch with friends and family on a relaxed summer afternoon. Before we share lunch, we’ll toast the season with a zero-proof garden refresher. Each attendee recieves a signed copy of Kevin’s new cookbook The Cooks Garden with this class. Menu to include: Garden refresher Date and kale tabbouleh Fennel meatballs (lamb) Zesty herb dipping sauce Rhubarb compote with lemon-herb poundcake, strawberry jam, and whisked cream This Hands-on class (plus lunch) is limited to ten people.
