Join Historic Beverly for this month’s 3 in 30 program as we explore the stories stitched into three remarkable textile objects from the Historic Beverly collection. In just 30 minutes, guests will take a closer look at how fabric, needlework, and handmade objects can reveal powerful connections to daily life, artistry, and American history across generations. This engaging program will feature a rare pocketbook dating to the 1600s, offering insight into early craftsmanship and personal belongings from colonial life; a beautifully detailed sampler from 1793 that reflects education, creativity, and the cultural traditions of young women in the early republic; and a Civil War-era quilt made from wartime fabrics, demonstrating how textiles often carried both practical and emotional significance during times of conflict and change.
