, Before our gates open to the public, this early morning walking tour provides exclusive access to discover the many birds that call Green-Wood home, at least temporarily. Stop by this fall and you will see a variety of species passing through. By September, the offspring of summer’s nesting birds will be on their own. Returning warblers will be in their less flamboyant fall plumage. Catch a glimpse of spot blackbirds, flycatchers, sparrows, vireos, and swallows on the move. By October, be on the lookout for returning waterfowl and raptors heading south. And by November, overwintering feathered denizens return from the north. Where To Go: Check-in takes place at the Main Entrance on Fifth Avenue and 25th Street (500 25th Street). Accessibility & Safety: Walking tour routes cover hilly, grassy, and uneven terrain. This tour is not accessible for those using wheelchairs or other mobility aids and may be difficult for those with balance or other mobility issues. There is no place to sit down during the tour.
