About this event

Join us on April 9, 2026, at the Lapis Theatre for the one-night-only premiere of Trauma Recovery Stories: Seattle. The film follows three Seattle residents who have overcome different types of trauma and whose stories intersect in the arts, specifically poetry and music. Donna Leigh is a pioneer in the LGBTQ+ community. Iz White is an enrolled member of the Snoqualmie Tribe who grew up in the aftermath of tragedy. Fantasy A is an artist whose relentless drive has pushed him beyond limits others once placed on him because of his autism diagnosis. The screening will be followed by live performances from Fantasy A, Donna, and Iz.  This film is for anyone who has felt alone in what they went through.  Content warning: discussion of childhood trauma, emotional abuse, grief and loss, addiction, homelessness/instability, trans identity and discrimination, and mental health. Free admission to this event is made possible with support from 4Culture.
