Saturday, October 24 1:00PM Kiara M. Tanta-Quidgeon, MPH (Mohegan), is an early-career, community-engaged public health researcher and consultant who supports numerous projects in partnership with Tribal Nations and Indigenous-serving organizations across North America. She is also co-founder and lead coordinator of the annual Dancing in the Shadow of Sleeping Giant Powwow at Quinnipiac University, as well as the founder and director of the Sunrise Healing Community. Through digital community-building, educational workshops and presentations, community events, and other initiatives, the Sunrise Healing Community connects Indigenous youth and young adults to culturally grounded healing resources. Join Kiara for a presentation and discussion on the impact of culturally grounded, community-responsive approaches to healing and her work with this organization.
