Saturday, October 10 10:00AM Lover’s Leap State Park 178 Short Woods Rd, New Milford, CT 06776 Although sometimes obscured by popular local legend, the area around Lover’s Leap State Park has more than 12,000 years of significance to local Indigenous communities. Join representatives from Bridgewater Land Trust and The Institute for American Indian Studies for a moderately difficult guided hike featuring sites that highlight the deep history of local Native American peoples. The walk will begin with a special welcome by IAIS Educational Outreach Ambassador Darlene Kascak, Schaghticoke Tribal Nation. This is a free event, but RSVP is required.
