Thurs., Oct. 1 8-10:30 a.m. Free for members! Members of Carnegie Museums ages 65+ are invited to enjoy Senior Social: Breakfast and a Movie featuring “Amazon Adventure” presented at Kamin Science Center’s Rangos Giant Cinema. “Amazon Adventure” tells the epic, true story of Henry Bates, the son of a sock maker, a voracious learner, and multifaceted artist, who risked his life in the perilous Amazon in the 1850’s and discovered the “beautiful proof” for a revolutionary explanation for the development of life on earth. Motivated by his thirst for knowledge and unable to be contained by his factory town, Bates set sail with his friend Alfred Wallace, both in their early twenties, on the adventure of a lifetime across the ocean to the Amazon rainforest and a burning quest to prove if species change. Seating is “first-come, first-served” with breakfast from 8–9:30 a.m. and the film beginning at 9:30 a.m. Reserve early–this event will sell out! Suggested for members ages 65+.
