Amaryllis Workshop

Get ready for the holidays with a beautiful and unique Waxed Amaryllis Workshop! Join us for a fun, hands-on morning as we transform amaryllis bulbs into stunning living decorations—no soil, pot, or green thumb required! You’ll learn how to prepare and wax an amaryllis bulb, then decorate it with festive seasonal touches to create a one-of-a-kind centerpiece to take home. Choosing from at least two wax colors and adding your own personal touch with festive Christmas napkins for a fun decoupage design, you’ll make two beautiful waxed amaryllis bulbs. Once finished, your waxed amaryllis requires no watering or planting while it’s blooming. Simply place it in a warm, bright spot and watch as the flower stalk emerges and your bulb bursts into bloom in the weeks ahead. You’ll also learn how to care for your bulbs after they bloom so they can eventually be planted directly in the ground. Amaryllis can thrive as perennials in our North Texas climate and, with proper care, can reward you with beautiful blooms year after year. Meet Your Workshop Leaders MaryAnn Nicholson MaryAnn is a longtime garden club member with nearly 20 years of garden club experience. A current member of both the Keller Garden Club and Colleyville Garden Club, she has served as an officer in both the Fort Worth Garden Council and District II. A lifelong lover of crafting and creative projects, MaryAnn has led a variety of hands-on workshops for the Colleyville Garden Club, sharing her skills and enthusiasm for creating beautiful things. Ann Morgan Ann is a Master Gardener and current President of the Colleyville Garden Club. An avid crafter, she enjoys sharing her creativity and gardening knowledge through hands-on workshops and has led programs for Colleyville and other garden clubs. Together, MaryAnn and Ann will guide you through each step of creating your waxed amaryllis bulbs, from preparation and waxing to festive decorating and care. Come enjoy a creative morning with fellow garden lovers and leave with two beautiful amaryllis bulbs—and a little bit of holiday magic in the making!
