Beaded Plants

Create your own beaded plant while learning from artist and educator Nan Blassingame, Creative Director of the Native American Cultural Center. In this hands-on workshop, participants will be introduced to beading techniques and create a plant-inspired piece to take home. Along the way, Blassingame will share insights from her experience teaching traditional crafts and working within Native artistic traditions. Blassingame is an enrolled member of the Cheyenne and Arapaho tribes. She teaches students traditional crafts including sewing, beading and powwow dance, and is a fashion designer known for blending traditional and contemporary styles in work that ranges from regalia to runway fashion.
