About this event
What does it mean to botanize? More than simply identifying plants, botanizing is the practice of observing, appreciating and building a deeper connection with the plant world around us. Join Dr. Ben Goulet-Scott and Dr. Jacob Suissa, co-founders of the educational nonprofit Let’s Botanize, for an engaging talk designed to inspire curiosity about plants and the stories they tell. Through their work, Goulet-Scott and Suissa encourage people of all ages and backgrounds to explore the natural world through observation, discovery and a greater understanding of plant life. Goulet-Scott and Suissa both earned doctorate degrees in evolutionary biology from Harvard University. Today, Goulet-Scott designs and manages higher education programming at Harvard Forest, while Suissa serves as an Assistant Professor of evolutionary biology at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville.
