First Responders Days

The Louisville Zoo is proud to recognize and thank the men and women who serve and protect our communities. During First Responders Days, qualifying first responders and military personnel receive free Zoo admission, and up to five accompanying guests receive discounted admission. First Responders Days are September 11 – 13, 2026. This annual event honors the dedication and sacrifice of our public safety professionals, including those who have responded to emergencies throughout our region and served our community during times of need. Free Admission for Eligible First Responders and Military Personnel Who is eligible? The following individuals are eligible for free Zoo admission during First Responders Days: Firefighters EMTs and paramedics Police officers State troopers Federal agents Investigators Evidence technicians Firearms examiners Crime lab technicians 911 dispatchers Correctional officers Handwriting examiners Intelligence analysts Investigative assistants Active-duty military personnel Retired military personnel What You’ll Need To receive free admission, eligible guests should present one of the following at the Zoo entrance: Government-issued badge Employee identification card Military identification card Military retirement identification or documentation Guest Discount Each eligible first responder or military member may bring up to five guests, who will receive 50% off regular Zoo admission. Parking Parking fees are not included and will be charged at the regular rate. Frequently Asked Questions Are special tickets required? No. Eligible guests can receive the offer by presenting qualifying identification at the admission gate. Are advance reservations required? Check back closer to the event date for any admission procedures or updates. Are there special programs or activities during First Responders Days? No additional programming is planned as part of this recognition weekend. The event focuses on honoring first responders and military personnel through complimentary and discounted admission opportunities.
