Light in the Shadows: A 5 Year Remembrance Ceremony & Tribute Join us for Light in the Shadows, a four-day tribute honoring the 13 American service members who gave their lives in the tragic bombing at Abbey Gate outside Kabul Airport during the withdrawal from Afghanistan. This remembrance holds special meaning for our community as we honor Lance Cpl. Jared Schmitz, a proud son of St. Charles County, whose service and sacrifice will never be forgotten. Over the course of four days, the Mid America Veterans Museum will provide a space for reflection, remembrance, and gratitude.
