Creating Winter Wildlife Habitat (Online)

Join instructor Leah Brooks to discover how natural garden features like seed heads, structured brush piles, fallen leaves, and native shrubs provide critical winter habitat for birds and beneficial insects. Master the art of layering brush piles and roost boxes so they blend seamlessly into your existing garden layout. Discover how to utilize fallen leaves to protect overwintering pollinators while maintaining clean lawn edges and crisp garden borders. Virtual class ends at 2:15 pm, as the instructor takes the in-person students for a tour of the gardens. Cuba. She has dual bachelor’s degrees from the University of Delaware in Environmental Science and Wildlife Ecology. She is a Delaware Master Naturalist and Vice Chair of the Delaware Invasive Species Council. She’s an avid contributor to the Delaware Native Plant Identification and Exchange group on Facebook.
