About this event

Outdoors Workshops

Encapsulate the splendor of nature in a resilient and functional piece of garden art using cement and real foliage as your mold. In this hands on workshop, you’ll create a cupped leaf sculpture using the leaves of native plants as your inspiration and your guide. Native foliage offers extraordinary texture, veining, and form—traits that translate beautifully into castings. As you work, you’ll learn how native plants not only shape the aesthetic of your sculpture but also support local ecosystems, making your finished piece both meaningful and ecologically rooted. This workshop blends artistry with environmental stewardship, giving you a deeper appreciation for native plants and a unique garden accent that celebrates their beauty. Wear old clothes and bring a pair of sturdy rubber gloves. This program takes place in-person at Mt. Cuba Center Friday, July 10, 2026. 🥬 Gift or take home About the Instructor: Kathy Elliot works as an Educator at Mt. Cuba Center.
