Live Music Community

@ Free Admission! Doors open at 6:30PM Join us for an evening of live music, connection, and community! Our monthly Open Mic at One Longfellow Square is a space for sharing songs, discovering new voices, and spending time in a supportive creative community. This year, the series will be hosted by a rotating lineup of our 2026 Longfellow Emerging Artist Fellowship (LEAF) Fellows, each bringing their own presence and perspective to the room. Whether you’re performing or just listening, you’re invited to show up and be part of the night. How It Works: Doors open at 6:30PM In-person sign-ups: 6:30PM – 7:00PM – Drop your name in the lottery; we’ll draw 10 performers (or 12 if time permits.) Showtime: 7:00PM – 9:30/10:00PM – The night kicks off with a short set from our featured LEAF host before performances begin. Each artist gets two songs or 10 minutes—whichever comes first. Extra Slots? If time allows, we’ll pull more names at 9PM to keep the music going. Performer Notes: This open mic is geared toward singer-songwriters to keep transitions between sets short and smooth. Bands may have a chance to apply for a featured artist slot in the future… stay tuned! Stick around, support your fellow artists, and grab a drink at the bar! About Your Featured Artist: Alex Silver is an experimental folk musician in southern Maine, where he works as a French teacher. Today he plays most frequently in Chico States, an alt-country project with a recent release for Anything Bagel. He’s a former guitarist for Raw Honey, a Michigan-based indie band whose album Riverbed came out on Fred Thomas’ Life Like label. Silver has also written for Stockholm’s L’amour La mort. His latest release is a longform single called “Let Me Be A Friend For Lost Time,” available May 22nd at the new Subvert co-op where he’s an active member. Website | Instagram About Your Longfellow Emerging Artist Fellowship Host: Lolabelle is an alt-rock band hailing from West Buxton. A group of neighbors gathered in a shared basement in 2024, bringing together the unlikely pairing of musicians from the diverse worlds of opera, jazz, indie rock, and grunge. Over the past year of performing the band’s sound has evolved, combining heavy hooks with strong vocals. The result is a dynamic and dense live show that’s both bittersweet and deeply visceral. Lolabelle is Stephen Bennett (guitar), Kurt Fedora (bass), Gene Gill (drums), and Caroline Homer (vocals/guitar). LEAF is a yearlong program that supports Maine-based artists through paid performance opportunities, creative development, and deeper connection with their community. Hosting an open mic gives Fellows a chance to shape a night they care about – welcoming artists into the room, inviting a featured perfor...
