In The Weeds @ KoKo Lot

Come see In The Weeds on July 18th from 12-7pm @ the KoKo Lot in Brooklyn! In The Weeds will build on Lauren Pirie’s artist residency from 2025 at KoKo Lot, where she constructed a living soil sculpture. The sculpture continues to decompose and grow in the lot, and this exhibition will bring together artists whose work expands on themes in the work. In this exhibition event, Pirie’s initial residency will be revisited and expanded upon by addressing the hyper-local ecology of the space. In The Weeds refers to both the literal setting (an empty lot used for outdoor programming), and the metaphor, meaning to get lost in the details of an environment. The six participating artists will install their work in relation to this particular space, resulting in a scavenger hunt of contemporary art throughout the lot.
