About this event
This workshop is designed for writers new to the mystery genre as well as those looking to refine their craft. It will help you understand the building blocks of a mystery. Develop plots with twists, turns, and the unexpected. Create deep-seated motivations for your characters. Craft great plot twists. You’ll enjoy writing exercises and prompts to help you figure out what’s going on in the heads and hearts of your protagonist, antagonist, and other key characters. Who Dunnit and Why explores the narrative structure of mysteries. Through the lens of both protagonists and antagonists (“who”) and their motivations (“why”), we’ll explore several key elements of what makes for an engaging mystery—with plenty of writing exercises and group discussion. Workshop recommended for ages 17 and up. Hosted in the community room on the lower level of the library. Registration required: Who Dunnit and Why – Fill out form
