This 1-day workshop is open to artists of all levels and working in any medium. Limited to 10–12 students. Hands can be difficult for many artists. This workshop will introduce ways to simplify the structure of the hand based on its position and pose. Portraits are one of the most interesting subjects for many artists. The workshop will teach a direct approach to painting within a short amount of time, focusing on capturing either a portrait of the face or the hand. There will be a live model and photo references of hands for students to choose from. Schedule 9:00–11:00 AM — Lecture + Demonstration 11:00 AM–12:00 PM — Individual guidance and help with students’ paintings 12:00–1:00 PM — Lunch 1:00–4:00 PM — Individual guidance and help with students’ paintings Special Notes The workshop will take place in our third floor studio. There will be a shared model fee.
