Copying a masters painting has been used by painting students for centuries. Instructor: Jeanne Hougen Ages: Teens and Adults, age 15 and up Prerequisite: This class is designed for someone with some painting experience. If you are a beginner, please contact instructor. Class size: minimum of 3, maximum of 12 Description: Copying a masters painting has been used by painting students for centuries. It allows you to get into the mind of a master painter, learning from the way they depict values, shading, color, and edges. You will also better understand how that master painter was using brushwork, which can help in loosening up the way in which you paint. In this 4 week class you will choose a master painting to copy, then go through the steps of re-creating that painting with one on one instructor help. Bring to class: all you need is a sketchbook and pencil on the first day of class. We will discuss supplies, and you will receive a supply list then.
