From Populus Seattle

Great conversations start over good coffee. Take a coffee excursion to Populus Seattle as we welcome Puget Soundkeeper, the inaugural recipient of the Populus Stewardship Grant, for an informal discussion about 6PPD-quinone (6PPD-q). Discovered in Washington State in 2020, 6PPD-q is a chemical found in every tire on Earth and is the second most toxic chemical known to aquatic life. Over selections from Monorail Espresso, connect with the team protecting and restoring Puget Sound to learn what 6PPD-q is, how it affects our local ecosystems, and what’s being done to develop solutions to mitigate its impacts. Hear how Puget Soundkeeper’s advocacy, water quality monitoring, and community partnerships are helping address this emerging environmental challenge and create a healthier future for our local waterways. Curious to learn more about 6PPD-q before joining us? Visit Puget Soundkeeper’s 6PPD-q info page. Good things are brewing—save your seat!
