About this event
One of 15 upcoming events at Print Center New York, and 4,992 across New York City.
Join us at the Institute for the Study of Latin American Art for a tour of The New York Graphic Workshop: Towards Total Art. Curated by Olivia Casa, this exhibition revisits the groundbreaking collective created by artists Luis Camnitzer (Uruguayan, b. 1937), José Guillermo Castillo (Venezuelan, 1938–1999), and Liliana Porter (Argentine, b. 1941) in New York in 1964 and follows the group’s activity through 1970. Bringing together works on paper, mail art, participatory pieces, installations, and archival materials, the exhibition traces NYGW’s radical expansion of printmaking into a form of artistic production that exceeded its material limits, highlighting its contributions to the evolution of conceptual art between New York and Latin America. This event is open to Print Center New York Members at the Contributor level and above. Image Credit: Liliana Porter, Still Life I (1970), Etching and Yarn. Plate size: 12 ½ x 17 ¾
