Join master printer and publisher Jacob Samuel for a walkthrough of Parasol Press: Breaking New Ground. Discussing key works on view that were influential to his own practice, Samuel will use his historical and technical expertise, as well as his deep experience collaborating with artists, to illuminate the works on view. Together, we’ll dive into the intaglio process, appreciate technical and collaborative innovations, and see the exhibition through a master printer’s eyes. Jacob Samuel printed etchings for 48 years. His imprint Edition Jacob Samuel (EJS) was established in 1988 and published sixty-five series of prints by sixty artists before closing in 2015, helping establish the traditional printmaking technique as a dynamic medium for the 21st century.
