US Webinar: Accelerated Outdoor Weathering Testing with the AIM Box Join Q-Lab for an educational session on accelerated outdoor weathering testing using the Automotive Interior Materials (AIM) box for automotive parts. We will present live on Thursday, 22 October at 8 am and 11 am ET. Automotive Interior Materials (AIM) box testing is a natural, accelerated way to simulate weathering stresses encountered by components behind glass in motor vehicles. Sunlight passing through automotive glass, in addition to very hot temperatures, can result in color change, cracking, peeling, oxidation, and loss of strength of materials in car and truck interiors. AIM boxes can reproduce these conditions and accelerate their impact by tracking the sun throughout the day in Arizona. AIM boxes are suitable for mounting large components like instrument panels, seat cushions, and steering wheels. Small, flat specimens can also be mounted to test samples like interior trim. In this educational session we will review: Outdoor and accelerated materials weathering testing Conditions experienced by automotive interiors and how the AIM box reproduces them Key benefits of AIM box testing Options for temperature control and solar tracking Applications and materials well-suited to AIM box testing
